How long have you been in business?
Originally, we were founded in 1909 as the Standard Supply Company, so we are now almost 110 years old.
What is your primary product or service?
Hoists and cranes, especially overhead bridge cranes, jib cranes and gantry cranes.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Standard has been a major supplier of overhead lifting products since the 1920's, in fact, we began selling Yale Hoists prior to the introduction of electric motors.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are different in that we handle all aspects of cranes and hoists from soup to nuts. We are the only company in Louisiana to manufacture bridge cranes, starting with raw I-beams. We can install, upgrade, repair, maintain, perform OSHA required inspections and load tests. No one else in the state performs ALL of these functions.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We currently have 7 locations in Louisiana, including a state-of-the-art overhead crane manufacturing plant in the Houma area.

It is very easy to find us, we are 2 blocks east of Airline at the intersection of Choctaw and Commerce Ave.
What type of payments do you accept?
We sell on open line of credit, and all accept all credit cards.
Which areas do you service?
We service the entire state of Louisiana, and surrounding states. We ship hoist all over the world.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Our company is run by a professional management team, in Baton Rouge headed by Mr. Craig Breaux.
What are your hours of operation?
We respond to service calls 24/7/365. Normal office hours are 7 to 4:30, but our phones are answered by our on-call personnel at all hours.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
We did the job quickly, safely, and on-budget with high quality materials and professional service techs.
